Three-day workshop on astronomy, astrophysics

A three-day workshop on astronomy and astrophysics will be conducted by the Department of Physics and Mathematics, St. Philomena’s College, in the city from February 11.

The workshop will cover topics like birth, evolution, and end-phase of stars, galaxies and the universe, telescopes, observational techniques in astrophysics, understanding the solar system, and space missions for probing the solar system. P. Sreekumar, Director, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, will inaugurate the workshop and deliver the keynote address. There will be lectures by resource persons from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics and Indian Space Research Organisation.
