Three persons of a family were allegedly electrocuted at Kodimbady near Puttur in Dakshina Kannada on Monday.
Police gave the names of the deceased as Babu Gowda (62), Sheshappa Gowda (42) and Karthik (20). Babu and Sheshappa were brothers and Karthik was the son of another brother of Babu.
Police said that a high tension wire passed close to the arecanut plantation of Babu. When Sheshappa and the other two went to the plantation with a metal ladder to cut the branches of a tree it accidentally touched the high tension wire. Sheshappa was holding the ladder and the other two went to his rescue. All the three were electrocuted on the spot at 9 a.m. Puttur police have registered a case of unnatural death.
