Tardy progress of Yettinahole project work irks MLAs

They take officials to task for not completing the scheme

May 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - Hassan:

Expressing dissatisfaction over the manner in which the Yettinahole Integrated Drinking Water Project was being executed, a delegation of legislators from Kolar, Tumakuru and Chikkaballapur districts took the officials Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd., to task here on Saturday.

The delegation is on a visit to the project site to inspect the progress of work.

K.R. Ramesh Kumar, Srinivaspur MLA, said that Yettinahole water project was the only scheme that could provide the people living in the traditionally dry districts with water. “If this project is not implemented, death will be the only other option left for us. You have not done the work properly.

So far, you have spent money only on the pipe fabrication work. Execute the project expeditiously,” he told the officials. He also expressed his ire over the alleged delay in the acquisition of private land required for the project.

Manjunath, Malur MLA, said if the work were to continue at the current pace, then the people in his constituency would not get the water soon.
