Swiss students to visit MYRA school

July 07, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:26 am IST - MYSURU:

MYRA School of Business, in collaboration with Swiss Learning Exchange (SLX), has organised a study tour to India for the Masters in International Business students at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.

SLX is a learning-exchange platform that integrates the best of Swiss classroom-based learning with the interaction with global markets through first-hand travel.

India’s fast-growing market makes it an ideal study for students. With globalisation and growing interest in the emerging Indian market, there is increasing demand for understanding the nuances of ‘doing business in India, said Shalini Urs, founder and chairperson, MYRA.

The tour programme will have three components — academic, industry, and cultural interaction and experience. The Swiss students’ study trip will be to three cities — Mumbai, Bengaluru and Mysuru. Moreover, the trip will offer “deep dives” into the infrastructure, manufacturing and services sectors of the Indian economy, the release added.

The group will be visiting industries such as Infosys and others in Mysuru, ABB and a couple of other industries in Nanjangud. A cultural evening of dance and music — ‘Yadukala’ — has been arranged.

Dr. Urs said the programme also offers a great opportunity for MYRA students and staff to interact with international students and gain a global perspective. The student delegation will be in Mysuru from July 11 to 13.
