S.V. Patil passes away

S.V. Patil.

Member of the Consultative Committee on Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute, S.V. Patil, passed away at his residence here on Monday. He was 93.

Mr. Patil, who had undergone a surgery in Bangalore recently, was recuperating, but developed complications on Sunday night. He is survived by wife, two daughters and four sons.

Born in Muragod in Bailhongal taluk of Belgaum district, Mr. Patil had begun his career as an advocate and had retired as Additional Development Commissioner in the Government of Karnataka.

Mr. Patil was an authority on the border issue and had always fought for the cause of Kannada and Karnataka. He wrote articles for Kannada dailies and magazines and was actively involved in social works. Several Kannada organisations paid their last respects and took part in the funeral on Monday.
