Sunil Bose case hearing on August 16

August 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:00 am IST - MYSURU:

The hearing on an application seeking to name Sunil Bose, son of Minister for Public Works H.C. Mahadevappa, as an accused in a bribery case is scheduled in a city court for August 16.

Third Additional District and Sessions Judge Sudheendranath on Thursday adjourned the case after Joshi, counsel for Mr. Bose, filed a written statement on the objections. When the case came up for hearing in the court, the judge sought a response from Mr. Joshi to the court notice served to his client after an application was submitted to name him and his associate Raju as accused in a Lokayukta case booked against a senior geologist for demanding a bribe in 2010.

When Mr. Joshi referred to a petition against the notice by his client that is pending the High Court, he was asked by the judge to file his objection as the High Court had not stayed the notice. He then filed a written objection and claimed that the Lokayukta’s decision to drop his client from the chargesheet was right as Mr. Bose was not involved in the matter.
