The Mysuru district Superintendent of Police, Abhinav Khare, on Wednesday suspended Sub-Inspector of Bannur police station Shivanna, who was allegedly found partying with Minister for Public Works H.C. Mahadevappa’s son Sunil Bose.
The suspension comes after a preliminary probe into the incident conducted by the Assistant Superintendent of Nanjangud Police found that Mr. Shivanna's behaviour was “inappropriate”.
“The Assistant Superintendent of Nanjangud Police submitted on Tuesday evening a report in which the sub-inspector’s behaviour in public was found inappropriate. So, pending a detailed inquiry, he has been kept under suspension,” Mr. Khare told reporters.
Mr. Khare has ordered a probe into the incident after photographs of the policemen including Shivanna partying with the Minister’s son had surfaced.
Mr. Mahadevappa was recently appointed Minister in charge of Mysuru district, in place of V. Srinivas Prasad. Mr. Mahadevappa represents T. Narsipur Assembly constituency.
