State’s finances in doldrums: Yeddyurappa

January 10, 2015 05:00 pm | Updated 05:00 pm IST

BJP vice-president B.S. Yeddyurappa said that the finances of the State were in “shambles” and instability in the government had demoralised bureaucracy.

Addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi city on Saturday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said as per the information available with him there was shortfall in the revenue mobilisation in almost all key departments.

Mr. Yeddyurappa said that besides curtailing pro-poor welfare measures like the Bhagyalakshmi Insurance Scheme for girl children launched by the previous BJP government in the State, the government was depriving funds for development projects in the State, he alleged.

Mr Yeddyurappa reiterated the demand for the publication of a White Paper on the finances of the State.
