Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday released a compilation of all legislation in Kannada and English enacted by the State legislature in 11 volumes, at a function organised by the Department of Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation here.

Receiving the volumes from Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra, the Chief Minister said the department would provide them free of cost to all the legislators so that they could be well-versed with the laws on various aspects of administration and development. The 11th volume contains legislations passed between 2006 and 2012, along with amendments; together they are published as ‘Karnataka Laws’.

Commending Mr. Jayachandra for making Karnataka a pioneer in compiling legislations, he said this would benefit legislators, judges, officials, law teachers and students.

Legislative Council chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy advised the legislators to study these books and said that they would come in handy while participating in the debates on important bills that were tabled in the legislature.
