The Department of Information and Public Relations has arranged for a special vehicle to create public awareness about the social and educational survey across the district.

The State-wide social and educational survey would be held from April 11 to 30. The department has decided to publicise the programme to the maximum extent. Therefore, it has arranged for a specially designed vehicle to travel across the district and create awareness about the survey, sources told The Hindu.

The loud speaker-fitted vehicle would visit all the 232 gram panchayats in the seven taluks of the district. It would educate the public about the significance of the survey through loud-speaker announcements and by distributing publicity materials such as pamphlets and posters. The survey aims at identifying people, who are socially and educationally backward. At least 1,459 enumerators, 456 supervisors and 14 officials would participate in the survey. The district administration has formed 4,093 blocks for the survey in Mandya, sources said.
