The district unit of Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha (KPRS) has organised the seminar.

Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane State president V. Geetha criticised the decision of Rachenahalli grama panchayat to utilise the funds for building construction instead of spending on pure drinking water scheme. The panchayat had got special funds under Gandhi Grama Puraskar yojana of the Centre.
The participants criticised MLAs K.R. Ramesh Kumar, K.S. Manjunath and Varthur Prakash for not participating in the programme in spite of their consent to take part. “It shows the lack of interest on part of people’s representatives about the water woes of the people”, the participants said.
