Several injured during temple festival at Tumakaru

More than 50 people were injured while performing 'kenda konda hayuvudu,' a ritual that invloves crossing the fire, at Hethenahalli in Tumakuru taluk and district on Tuesday.

The ritual was part of the jathre and car festival for village deity. The incident took place around 4.30 a.m.

The injured have been admitted to Tumakuru district hospital and some of them have been shifted to Bengaluru.
