Seminar on postcolonial aesthetic experience

Teresian College and the Postgraduate Department of English of the Karnataka State Open University, Mysore, have jointly organised UGC-sponsored two-day national seminar on ‘Postcolonial aesthetic experience: exploring the dialectical nature of postcolonial text’ on February 27 and 28 on the college premises. The seminar is expected to facilitate exploration of the contours of the postcolonial literary texts and their dialogic imagination, and has been organised for the benefit of students, research scholars and teachers.

N.G. Krishnan, Vice-Chancellor of KSOU, will inaugurate the conference at 9.30 a.m. on February 27, and V.S. Joseph Albert, Deputy Principal, St. Xavier’s College, Tamil Nadu, will deliver keynote address.

Academicians invited to deliver lectures on various aspects of post-colonialism include P.P. Ajayakumar, University of Kerala; B.N. Balajee, Retired Professor of English, KSOU; A.S. Dasan, Former Chairperson of Department of Studies in English, University of Mysore; C.P. Ravichandra, Professor of English, UOM; V. Shantha, Jyothi Nivas College, Bangalore; Ganesh Krishnamurthy from Madras Christian College and Sushma V. Murthy, Christ University.

Valedictory address will be by S. Xavier Alphonse, SJ Director and Founder ICRDCE, Chennai.
