Seminar on history and culture tomorrow

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President, will deliver the valedictory address in ‘The glory that was Bidar’, a seminar on the history and culture in Bidar on March 17. The eminent scientist will speak at the Zilla Rang Mandir at 1 p.m.

The three-day international seminar is being organised by the district administration and Hyderabad Karnataka Regional Development Board. On March 17, Dusan Deak, an authority on comparative religion, will inaugurate the seminar at the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences. Prof. Deak of Comenius University, Bratislava, Republic of Slovakia, will speak on ‘Bidar in the Marathi world: Saints, Kings and Powers across the Centuries’. Chiranjiv Singh, the former special representative, UNESCO, Anuradha Reddy of INTACH, Hyderabad, Rehmat Tarikere, of Hampi Kannada University, Appagere Somashekar, Vikram Visaji and Shivaganga Rumma of Central University of Karnataka will speak on various topics. Ratish Nanda, Project Director, Aga Khan Foundation, V. Venu, Director General, National Museum, New Delhi, Amlan Aditya Biswas, Regional Commissioner and Secretary, HKDB, Ratish Nanda, Kishor Raikar of Indian Heritage Cities Network and others will be present, said a release.
