Even as the Ramchandrapura Math seer Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday for questioning in the alleged case of sexual harassment and rape, the CID moved the High Court to cancel bail given to the seer by a local court.

The CID moved the High Court questioning the order of the City Civil and Sessions Court, which on October 9 had granted interim anticipatory bail to the seer. The petition is coming up for hearing on October 15.

The CID claimed that the anticipatory bail was granted by the Sessions Court without issuing notice to the prosecution, besides alleging that the accused-seer had suppressed certain facts while obtaining anticipatory bail.

Meanwhile, the seer, who reached Bangalore on Monday night from Honnavar, appeared before the CID officials in Carlton House.

The notice was issued after a team from the National Commission for Women met the State and city police chief to get updates on the case. The seer was questioned for nearly five hours and was accompanied by his advocates.
