Sampark Kranti extended to Chandigarh

The regular services of train nos. 22685/22686 Yeshwantpur-Chandigarh-Yeshwantpur Sampark Kranti Bi-weekly Express will commence on January 22 from Yeshwantpur and January 25 from Chandigarh.

Minister for Railways flagged off the inaugural special service to Chandigarh here on Monday.

The extended service is a result of the Railway Board’s approval for increasing frequency of train nos. 12629/12630 Yeshwantpur-Nizamuddin-Yeshwantpur Sampark Kranti Express from Bi-weekly to four days a week, duly extending two days to Chandigarh as announced in the Railway Budget 2013-14, said a release from South Western Railway here.

Train No. 12685 leaves Yeshwantpur on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1.50 p.m. to reach Chandigarh at 6.20 p.m. on Fridays and Mondays via Tumkur, Davangere, Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Miraj, Bhopal, Jhansi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi, Ambala and Panipat [all commercial halts].

Train No. 12686 leaves Chandigarh on Saturdays and Tuesdays at 3.15 p.m. to reach Yeshwantpur on Mondays and Thursdays at 6.20 a.m. on the same route.
