Many participated in a 10K Run in Mysuru to create awareness on the need to give way to ambulances on the road.

Based on the theme ‘Give Way to Save Life’, organised by Columbia Asia Hospital in Mysuru, the run was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep from the University of Mysore’s Clock Tower at Manasagangothri. The runners passed through Kukkarahalli Road, Hunsur Road, the road in front of SJCE and Bogadi Gaddige Road before finishing at the tower.

While G.J. Chetan came first finishing in 33.06 minutes, H.D. Rama and his younger brother H.D. Lakshman, both from Hunsur, finished second and third respectively with a timing of 34.18 minutes and 35.59 minutes..

Among the women, Archana came first by clocking 42.02 minutes, followed by Thippavva Sannakki and D. Ranjitha, who secured the second and third place with 42.5 and 47.5 minutes respectively.

International marathoner and Rio Olympiad O.P. Jaisha, the guest of honour, emphasised on the importance of fitness. When a person focusses on her or his well-being, they are simultaneously honing all their senses physically and mentally, she said.
