Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, chairman, All India Council for Technical Education, has observed that the role of the student and the teacher had significantly changed over the years, thanks to widening gaps and increasing barriers.
Prof. Sahasrabudhe, who visited Visvesvaraya Technological University’s Jnana Sangama campus here on Saturday, said that efforts need to be taken to remove the barriers to ensure deeper involvement and student-teacher interaction. This is possible if the teacher was available to student 24x7, he said.
Teachers also needed to adapt to technological innovations and modern tools of teaching to make the classroom truly interactive and helpful to the students, as interactions lead to innovative ideas. VTU Registrar (Evaluation) H.G. Shekharappa felicitated Prof. Sahasrabudhe.
Shivaprasad B. Dandagi, dean and PG coordinator, explained the new initiatives like National Academy of Skill Development, Centre for Excellence of VTU in academics and research programmes taken by Karnataka’s only technological university.
