Eighty five teams of 360 students from twelve colleges of Northern Karnataka will compete with each other with their ‘Robots designed using Wireless Bluetooth Technology’ in the mega Robotic event ‘Teeranaut 7.0’ being held in Hubballi on Saturday.

The Mechanical Engineering Department of BVB College of Engineering and Technology is hosting the mega Robotic event in association with the Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES) and the winning team will get a total cash prizes of Rs. 50,000.

Event coordinator and faculty member G.M. Hiremath, convener Akshay Dhanakshirur said that while ‘Wired Robotics’ competition was common, it was the first time in entire India that a robotics competition based on Bluetooth Technology was being hosted.

Mr Akshay said that the objective was to provide a platform to showcase engineering skills and this year the event had been designed on ‘Planetary Mission Theme’ which meant that the robots designed by the students would replicate rovers on the planets.

Organiser Chetan Hooli and AMES Secretary Shrinath Jadanagoudar said that they had organised two workshops on Robotics for 600 students for creating awareness on Robotics and also motivate them to participate in the Robotics Championship.

The Robotics event will be open to general public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 14.
