Chitradurga Taluk Panchayat president Rajkumar has instructed officials to reconsider the rejected applications for ration cards submitted by the poor in rural areas as most of them were cancelled without proper verification of documents.
Speaking at a Karnataka Development Programme review meeting here on Tuesday, he said that the benefits of government schemes were not reaching the actual beneficiaries as the officials were not properly verifying the documents. Steps should be taken to rectify the loopholes, Mr. Rajkumar said.
