Rani Channamma University will start a two-year course in ‘Journalism and Mass Communication’ from the present academic year 2016-17. It will be conducted at Samiti College in Nehru Nagar in the city. Thirty seats are available. Graduates in any discipline may apply for admission. Based on the number of applications received the university will take a decision regarding conduct of written examination for the admission.

RCU Vice-Chancellor Shivanand B. Hosamani said here on Saturday that the decision to launch the course was to give an opportunity for the students of Belagavi district and other parts of North Karnataka to tap the growing employment opportunities in journalism and mass media.
