Ramzan prayers: Traffic restrictions in Hubballi

As mass prayers are scheduled to be held at two Idgah Maidans in Hubballi on the day of Ramzan, the Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner has imposed restrictions on vehicular movement in Hubballi on Monday.

Mass prayers will be held at the Idgah Maidan located adjacent to Kittur Chennamma Circle and at the Idgah Maidan in Old Hubballi off Karwar Road. The restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. till noon.

Vehicles coming from Gadag Road and Station Road will be diverted at Pinto Point towards Desai Cross and Cotton Market to reach Hosur, while the space opposite Indira Glass House will serve as temporary bus station for KSRTC buses during the period.

Vehicles from Navalgund side will be diverted at Desai Circle towards Cotton Market. No vehicle will be allowed to move from Desai Cross to Pinto Point.

Vehicles from Bengaluru side moving towards Vijayapura and Gadag Road will be diverted at Kamaripet Police Station and will have to take the Toravi Hakkal, MT Mill, Hosur Circle, Desai Circle and Keshwapur route.

Motorists intending to go Dharwad will have to take the bypass road. No vehicles will be allowed to move towards Chennamma Circle from Basava Vana and other directions.

At Old Hubballi

Vehicles from Kalghatagi side will have to take the bypass Road and enter the city from Tarihal Interchange. Traffic near Karwar road-under-bridge will be stopped for some time during the namaz.

Restricted

The roads from Myadar Oni to Tulajabhavani Circle, Pendar Oni to Dajibanpet, Kalammana Agasi to Anchatageri Oni, Padma Talkies Road, Gouli Galli, Channapet Main Road towards Chatnimath, and Jai Bharat Circle at Kamaripet will be restricted for movement of people and vehicles.

However, people participating in mass prayers can use Station Road, Radhakrishna Galli to Durgadabail, Broadway, Lamington Road, Koppikar Road, Pendar Galli to PB Road, Chatni math Cross to Karwar Road, Keshwapur Circle,Desai Circle to Idgah Maidan and K.H. Patil Road. Underbridge to Dakappa Circle to proceed to the prayer venue.

Additional police personnel will be deployed for bandobast in the twin cities and surveillance cameras have been installed in sensitive areas and important junctions, the police said.
