The Janata Dal (Secular) Parliamentary Board has recommended the names of probable candidates for 22 of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State. The board has recommended single names for 15 constituencies and two or three names for the rest.

According to party sources, there is pressure to field Nikhil Gowda, son of H.D. Kumaraswamy, from Bangalore Rural and Anitha Kumaraswamy from Chickballapur despite party supremo H.D.
