Raghaveshwara Swami of Ramachandrapura Math, who is facing charges of sexual assault and rape, underwent medical tests at the Institute of Nephro-Urology at the Victoria Hospital here on Friday.

The seer arrived at the hospital around 8.30 a.m. and gave consent for the tests around 10 a.m. after which tests were performed on him. Four doctors, including a psychiatrist, physician, forensic expert and an urologist were part of the team that carried out the test.

The same team of four doctors had performed the tests on Swami Nithyananda, sources said. They said that all the tests CID had asked for had been carried out.

However, the potency test was not among the ones that were conducted on the seer, sources in the hospital said.

Remaining tests

Officials in the Criminal Investigation Department said that the seer had cooperated.

“A total of 16 tests had to be performed of which 13 were conducted on Friday. The remaining tests will be conducted another day following discussions with the seer,” a CID official said.
