Arvind Devendrappa Kamble (17), a PU student of Dannur village in Aland taluk of Kalaburagi district, died after consuming pesticide on Thursday.

He consumed pesticide due to depression after he learnt that he had failed in two subjects in the PU examinations, the results of which were announced on Wednesday. Arvind was found lying unconscious at his field on the outskirts of the village on Thursday evening.

He was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he failed to respond to treatment and died late on Thursday night. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. A case has been registered at Narona police station.
