Protest over ticket denial to Tiptur MLA

Shops and other commercial establishments in Tiptur were closed on Monday as supporters of local MLA Shadakshari had called for a bandh over denial of Congress ticket to him for the coming Assembly elections.

The supporters took out a protest march on the streets of Tiptur. The movement of vehicles was, however, normal.

An agitator tried to commit suicide by by pouring kerosene and setting himself on fire but the other agitators and police stopped him from doing so at Singri Nanjappa Circle in Tiptur.
