Minister for Revenue Kagodu Thimmappa has directed the management of Government McGann Hospital in the city to submit a proposal to the State government for installation of five additional dialysis units. He paid a surprise visit to the hospital on Friday.

The doctors said that at present, 12 dialysis units were functioning in the hospital and more than 200 patients were undergoing dialysis here. As dialysis is performed free of cost here, more patients have expressed their eagerness to avail the service, doctors said.

Mr. Thimmappa directed the hospital authorities to submit a proposal to the State government seeking funds for installation of five additional dialysis units here and said that he would discuss the issue with the senior officials of Medical Education and Health and Family Welfare Departments also.
