Proposal for extending loans for dairy development

April 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - BALLARI:

S.C. Basavaraju, chairman, Maharishi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, on Friday handed over subsidies to beneficiaries who had availed themselves of loans under the Entrepreneurship Development programme.

He later told presspersons that the corporation had planned to accord priority to extend loans to individuals and groups taking up dairy development, which in turn, would help improve their economic status.

Mr. Basavaraju said under the land purchase scheme, the corporation had proposed to the government to relax the existing rules – purchase of land was permitted within five km radius of the village of the beneficiary – to any part in the taluk.

Steps were also initiated to accelerate the process of recharging borewells drilled under the Ganga-Kalyan scheme.
