Seeking CBI inquiry into the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary on Wednesday questioned the efficiency of the intelligence wing of the State government.

Addressing presspersons, the former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president said that it appeared that the murder was pre-planned. He questioned why police have not been able to trace those who killed scholar M M Kalburgi two years ago.

Taking on B Ramanath Rai, Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada, Mr. Poojary alleged that he lacked responsibility in maintaining law and order in Dakshina Kannada.
