Over 350 Ganesh mandals will take out processions on Saturday

The police have tightened security to ensure that the immersion of Ganesh idols in the city and other parts of the district on Saturday passes off peacefully.

The immersion procession will commence at 3 p.m. on Saturday and conclude on Sunday morning.

Over 350 Ganesha mandals will take out processions in different parts of the city.

The main one being from Hutatma Chowk, which attract thousands of people from the city and adjoining towns and villages.

On Thursday, the Border Security Force and Rapid Action Force conducted a route march in the city.According to Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil, KSRP and DAR personnel would also be deployed. One Additional Superintendent of Police, 13 deputy superintendents, 46 circle inspectors, 137 sub-inspectors, 207 assistant sub-inspectors and 2,000 constables would be on security duty. CCTV cameras had also been installed, Mr. Patil added.
