“The gesture to erect a bust is fine. But please modify its face. It does not resemble J.H. Patel”.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had this piece of advice to the Haveri City Municipal Council on Saturday after unveiling a bust of the former Chief Minister J.H. Patel, who was instrumental in the birth of Haveri district.

CM upset

Mr. Siddaramaiah was upset that the bust did not resemble his one-time leader.

“I was with Patel for a long time. And if I am not able to make out that this is his bust, then what about others? It’s good to see that you have got the bust erected. But please ask the sculptor to modify its face so that it resembles Patel,” he told the municipal officials and councillors.
