State vice-president of All India Youth Federation, V. Chinnappa said that they would go on a ‘padayatra’ from Beladhara to Deputy Commissioner's office on August 3 to oppose the establishment of m-sand manufacturing unit at Ahobala Agrahara near Beladhara in Tumakuru taluk and district.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Chinnappa said that the explosives used to blast the rocks of a small hill in Ahobala Agrahara will pollute the environment and damage near-by houses.
He demanded that the Government should not give permission for the establishment of m-sand manufacturing unit which will affect thousands of villagers.
He also demanded to clear the encroachments in Gaare Narasaiahanakatte tank in Shettihalli on the outskirts of Tumakuru city.
He also criticised the Government’s plan of setting-up a cricket stadium on the 19-acre land of a tank which should instead be filled with water.
He warned of staging protest against the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, T.B. Jayachandra, if permission was given to set-up the stadium.
