The orientation of the 2015 batch of 250 students of Kasturba Medical College (KMC) was held at the Dr. T.M.A. Pai Hall here on Tuesday.

According to a press release issued here by Manipal University, they took the physician’s oath administered by Pragna Rao to begin their journey in the medical world.

There was a brief inaugural function called ‘MedOrient 2015’ and that was followed by talks from all who matter to the students during their stay in the flagship institute of Manipal University.

Speaking as the chief guest, K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, had a word of caution to the students. He told them how strict policing was in this education town of Manipal. He said that all what the police were doing was to ensure the students had a good and safe life as long as they were studying here.

Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University H.S. Ballal said that KMC-Manipal ranked among the top 10 of the 400-odd medical colleges in the country and had been maintaining that position for decades now.

A student handbook was released by the chief guest, Vasanthi R. Pai, Chairman of Hostels Committee of Manipal University on the occasion.
