‘Online system shortly’

April 19, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - MYSURU:

Applications for building licences can soon be submitted online to the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). Girish, Joint Director of Town Planning, MCC, told reporters on Monday that the MCC officials were in touch with Municipal Reforms Cell of the State government, which has devised an online suite for Municipal Building plan approval or Nirman.

The software did not work in MCC as the flow chart created under Nirman for routing the applications did not complement the system of delegation of powers in the civic body in Mysuru. “A common flow chart did not work here,” the official said.

The MCC can only go by the delegation of powers its follows under the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (KMC) Act, he said.

Though the submission of applications for building plans will soon go online under Nirman even in Mysuru, Mr. Girish said the single window cell introduced on Monday was also a good system.

Applications have to be submitted manually and the applicants can be told personally if the papers are in order. Also, Mr. Girish said it was possible to issue the license in two hours under the single window cell system.
