North Karnataka gets respite from cold wave

After a prolonged spell of cold wave conditions in north Karnataka districts, there has been some respite with a marked increase in the minimum temperature as per the summary of observations recorded at 8.30 a.m. on Friday by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Sources in the IMD said that the while the minimum temperature was appreciably low in isolated places of south interior Karnataka and coastal Karnataka, it was normal in north interior Karnataka districts.Davangere in central Karnataka recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.5 degree Celsius.

The IMD said dry weather would prevail in the State over the next three days starting from Saturday. After several days, Vijayapura and Belagavi Airport recorded double digit minimum temperature on Friday. While Vijayapura recorded 11 degree Celsius, Belagavi airport recorded 10 degree Celsius. The day temperature also appreciably rose over a few districts.
