The Forest Department authorities are clueless as to where the crocodile that was found dead at Sewage Farm in Vidyaranyapuram in Mysuru on Tuesday came from. But locals say they had seen such reptiles in a drain at Gopura Park, off Nanjangud Road, in the recent past. The carcass of the crocodile was found floating on sewage, and a tyre was found around its belly. Deputy Conservator of Forests Karikalan said, “Finding a crocodile within a city like Mysuru is uncommon. But some locals maintain they are crocodiles, especially in the drain at Gopura Park.”
