‘Electronic media representative brought ruffians who attacked devotees'

Nithyananda Swami of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam on Tuesday moved the Karnataka High Court challenging the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Bidadi police against him in connection with incidents that occurred in his ashram last week.

He has sought for quashing of two FIRs.

He claimed in the petition that his name has been included in the FIR though two complaints filed in connection with the incident do not disclose any allegations against him.

Nithyananda said that the behaviour of a certain representative of the electronic media was “nauseating and intolerable”. He also alleged that a representative of an electronic media, who went out of a press conference after certain arguments with him, later brought along with him some ruffians who attacked the devotees and residents of his ashram.

The FIRs were registered based on two complaints by Bhima Shankar Patil of Karnataka Nava Nirmana Sene and a reporter of a private television channel.

The petitions will come up for hearing on Wednesday.

The video of the entire press meet and related incidents are on youtube for those who wish to validate the sequence of events. There was no involvement of Nithyananda in the alleged assault of the media person. Infact, the behaviour of the media person of the Suvarna tv channel was unprofessional. Suvarna tv led a sustained villified attack on Nithyananda throughout the week using the US woman, Arathi Rao's allegations of abuse. These were recorded by the Karnataka CID over a year ago and the case is in the Karnataka High Court. But it was used by the channel to provoke public opinion against Nithyananda and led to violence towards his ashram. Despite complaints, no action has been taken either by the govt or the police against these anti-social elements. But Nithyananda is arrested for what? For not even participating in the alleged assault!

Dr. AJay's comment describes the events on the surface. I am sure that Nityananda will use his supernatural powers to turn the Chief Minister into a butterfly, or at least use his spiritual might to convert him into his disciple.

Dr.Ajay is implying that allegations of sexual exploitation from US women are baseless. The nerve he has to accuse an entire population. Racism at it's worst.

The entire appearance is that the Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda is simply interested in power grabbing the Ashram property. An allegation from a US based women claiming sexual expoiltation indicates that, at worst, it was consesual. It could be entirely made up story. It is certainly no crime. It seems to be equated to rape since no other womam's claim is mentioned inthis report. Ann altercation with media with Ashram supporters seems to called for locking the Ashram and grabbing it.
The entire report seems as if the govt. hoodlums are fabricating a case on the slimmest of charges for demonisining Nityananda and grabbing property.

When a person is released on bail, however great he is, he should be fitted with irremovable electronic tracking device. That way, law enforcement & judiciary need not spend so much of money to trace him when he absconds. This is what practiced in USA. Even if a family member of the president is facing such charges, the rules applies. India should learn these techniques from USA.

Like the Karnataka govt,Tamil Nadu govt should also take legal action against this self styled god man.It seems that Nityananda has no any moral value to be called as human being and how does his followers call him as god man.Even GOD is not punishing such criminals, but the Govt can not wait for GOD to punish Nityananda. The Govt is duty bound to protect its people from the evil man.I humbly request the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to take needful action against Nityananda so that God fearing people of India can get a relief.

I think that the wording in the article is misleading and casting Nithyanada in a negative image. All godman are self made,in what way he is different from Saibaba.Do Hindu want to believe us that God is sending messenger to the world every now and than. All these Godmen are exploiting the insecurity in human life..But unfortunately that business is officially accepted in our country, thanks to the believers who dominate our society.Simply because he had sex with a consenting adult(unmarried bachelor girl)that is not aginst the law.Probably other Godman was not exposed and even when somone want to expose people like Saibaba, his disciple was killed and the case was buried under tha carpet.Nithyanada is also a human being like us and he has every rght to enjoy sexual life.First of all let us stop pretending that Godman are something superior to others. They are also same like me and you, since they are not qualified and lazy to do manual work they are working as Godman.
