This year’s Mysore Dasara website — >www.mysoredasara.gov.in — was launched here on Monday.
Designed to promote the flavour and culture of Dasara in Mysore, the website, with content in English and Kannada, gives a complete coverage of the 2014 events.
Dot Angle, a Mysore-based software company, has designed the website for the second successive year, with support from the NIC and the district administration, Mysore.
Minister in charge of Mysore V. Srinivas Prasad launched the website in the presence of Minister for Cooperation H.S. Mahadeva Prasad, MLAs and senior officials at the deputy commissioner’s office here.
A device-friendly website with open design (for compatibility with iPad, iPhone, other smartphones, tablets, desktops and laptops), users can subscribe for regular updates on Dasara through WhatsApp, a release said here.
There is a provision for hosting pictures of Mysore Dasara clicked by the public. Videos of Dasara, wishes and messages from the public and VIP video greetings will be uploaded.
Like previous years, there will be live webcast of major Dasara events.
In the photo gallery, photographs of all major events, including the Jamboo Savari and some heritage buildings of Mysore, have been uploaded. Videos of old Dasara celebrations and major tourist hotspots in and around Mysore have been uploaded.
The website will feature date-wise listings of Dasara besides venue details with information on nearest parking spaces, nearest bus stop, listings of restaurants, hotels and resorts for food and accommodation.
Users can post queries and get answers instantly on the Dasara Web Forum. Dasara-related queries can also be sent to mysoorudasara@gmail.com.
