The new logo for Dasara has been finalised and will be released on Saturday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The logo, which was last revised 10 years ago, has been finalised by the Dasara festival committee and the district administration.
T. Venkatesh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, told The Hindu here on Friday that over 160 people from across the State had sent in their designs for the new logo. The committee had shortlisted five designs few days ago and had finalised the logo on Friday. The district administration is engaged in giving final touches to the new approved logo with the advice of senior artists and others.
There had been tremendous response to the invitation to design the logo and entries were still pouring in, said Mr. Venkatesh.
The new logo will be released by H.C. Mahadevappa, district in-charge Minister. Meanwhile, the Dasara website will also be released on Saturday. Users can also subscribe for regular updates on Dasara through WhatsApp.
Mr. Venkatesh said that the website will feature the venue details for the festivities and information on the nearest bus stop, hotels, restaurants and others. Mr. Mahadevappa will also launch the site on Saturday.
