Navarathri programmes at Nandini Layout

The annual Navarathri festival organised by the Nandini Utsava Samithi will commence here from Friday till October 4, 2014.

Providing details to presspersons here on Thursday about the nine day event, Utsava Samithi, president K.V. Rajendrakumar said that the main aim of the event was to bring together people of all groups irrespective of caste and to enjoy various activities. Some of the programme of the nine day event features: Comedy by Gangavathi Pranesh and team, Benki Nrithya by Shivam International, sugama sangeeta and old film songs by television and Akashavani artiste Sumitra, fashion show and Koli Nrithya of South Canara region.

Mr. Rajendrakumar said, besides various programmes, the Samithi is also organising talent hunt programmes for school and college students to encourage them to showcase their talents.

Under the talent hunt programme, inter-school and inter-collegiate competitions will be conducted in group dance, folk dance, skit, quiz, fashion show and drawing. For details, visit www.nandiniutsava.com
