Narayanpur dam water-level goes up

July 09, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - YADGIR:

The water-level in the Narayanpur reservoir across the Krishna in Surpur taluk of Yadgir district has improved due to good rainfall in the Malaprabha catchment areas in Vijayapura district.

Officials of the Krishna Bhagya Jal Nigam Limited told The Hindu over phone on Friday, that the water level in the reservoir stood at 486.13 metres against a full reservoir capacity of 492.25 metres.

The officials said that there was no inflow from the Almatti dam as of now. Also, there was no outflow from the Narayanpur reservoir.

They said that they would take a decision on releasing water from the reservoir into the river course or the canals based on inflow at the reservoir.
