Speaking to The Hindu here on Wednesday, Superintendent of Police Borase Bhushan Gulabrao said the police were taking steps to freeze the assets of the accused.

“We will also take steps to recover investments made by the perpetrators,” Mr. Gulabrao said.

The Mandya police, who are part of the special team formed to crack the case, are contemplating taking assistance by the departments concerned in this regard. The accused allegedly siphoned the funds from MUDA between September 2012 and February this year.
