A woman and her son died on the spot when the car they were travelling in hit a tree near Kenchapura Gate in Tarikere taluk on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Jahnavi (48) and her son Vishwanath (28), residents of Tunga Nagar in Shimoga.
The mother and her son were on the way to Chikkamagaluru to invite their relatives for Vishwanath’s wedding scheduled for April 28.
Vishwanath was driving his Ford Figo. He lost control over his vehicle near Kenchapura Gate. Mahabaleshwara Naik, PSI of Lingadahalli Police Station, reached the spot. A case has been registered.
