More water purification units for Chitradurga

April 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - CHITRADURGA:

Chitradurga City Municipal Council (CMC) president B. Kantraj has said that 25 drinking water purification units will be installed in different parts of the city by the year-end.

Speaking after inaugurating a new drinking water purification unit at Chennakeshav extension in Kelagote locality here on Friday, he said that four drinking water purification units had been installed in the city in the last four months and two more would be installed by the month-end.

The city municipal council had decided to take sponsorship from different organisations to install these units in areas from where high fluoride content in water was reported.

He said that steps would be taken to stop accumulation of waste material in Mallapur tank as it could be the source of drinking water to the city and also help maintain the ground water table.

25 units to be set up by year-end, says CMC president
