More seats added to CET matrix

Bringing relief to Common Entrance Test (CET) rank-holders, more seats were added to the seat matrix here on Tuesday. Seats have been added in engineering (1,212), dental (133) and architecture (51) streams. A press note from the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) said that none were added to the medical matrix.

Significantly, 233 seats from Reva University, which became a private university recently, have been added. Confusion persists over the other private university — PES University.

Other than these, 311 seats in Bijapur Liberal District Educational Association (BLDEA), Bijapur; 405 in Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore; 216 seats in GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysore; and 47 seats in GSS Institute of Technology, Bangalore, have been added to the matrix.

Dental seats

Of the 133 dental seats added, 14 each are in Sri Venkateshwara Dental and Hospital College, Bangalore; HKDET’s Dental College and Hospital and Research Institute, Humnabad; Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital, Shimoga; and KGF College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, KGF; 35 in KVG Dental College and Hospital, Sullia; and 21 each in SJM Dental College and Hospital, Chitradurga; and Dayanand Sagar College of Dental Sciences, Bangalore.

As many as 34 seats have been added in the architecture stream from Sharada School of Architecture, Bangalore, and 17 from SJB School of Architecture, Bangalore.
