Congress president Rahul Gandhi alleged on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking credit for all development as a “one-man show” by ignoring the contributions of his own party leaders.

Addressing a gathering at Suratkal, on the outskirts of the city, during the Janaashirvada Yatre he alleged that Mr. Modi is not giving due space for the contributions of his own party leaders such as L.K. Advani, Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari towards development.

Mr. Gandhi said that the Prime Minister has been stating in his speeches that the Congress has not contributed anything for the development of the country during the last 70 years. Not recognising the contributions of the party for the development of the country was an insult not only to the Congress but for all people of the country.

He alleged that Mr. Modi was responsible for privatising 90 per cent of universities and colleges in Gujarat.

Referring to the purchase of Rafale fighter jets from France, Mr. Gandhi alleged again that the deal for the purchase has been finalised at a higher price by the NDA government than the previous deal negotiated by the UPA government.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Congress was following an inclusive policy.
