Tension prevailed in Amasandra village in Turuvekere taluk, Tumakuru district, on Sunday when supporters of Janata Dal (Secular) MLA M.T. Krishnappa and Amasandra residents clashed.

Mr. Krishnappa and his supporters were on a door-to-door campaign in the village when some people questioned the MLA as to why they should cast their vote for him though he had not undertaken any development work in the village. Angered by this, the MLA’s supporters allegedly thrashed the village residents.

The Dandinashivara police brought the situation under control.
