Presidents and panchayat development officers of four gram panchayats in the district will have breakfast with Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister H.K. Patil at Belagavi on Friday.
This comes in the wake of Mr. Patil lauding the efforts of presidents and the PDOs for motivating rural people to construct toilets under the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan.
Harirayanahalli in the Agrahara Bachahalli gram panchayat limits in K.R. Pet taluk, Kadali Pura in Hemmana Halli GP limits in Maddur taluk, Ganaganuru of Ragibommana Halli GP in Malavalli taluk and Tharipura in Mahadevapura GP in Srirangapatna taluk had achieved full sanitation and declared them as open-defecation-free villages, Rohini Sindhuri, Chief Executive Officer of the Mandya Zilla Panchayat, told The Hindu. Premamma and K. Deve Gowda, president and PDO of Agrahara Bachahalli GP respectively; Sudha and Baby Shwetha of the Hemmanahalli GP; Mahadevappa and Prashanth Babu of Ragibommana Halli and Bhagyamma and K. Rajeshwari of Mahadevapura GP left for Belagavi on Thursday.
