Mercury continues to rise in HK, Bombay Karnataka regions

Even as the State experienced dry weather with isolated rain at a few places in coastal Karnataka, the mercury continued to rise in the districts in Hyderabad Karnataka and parts of Bombay Karnataka regions.

Kalaburagi sizzles

According to the observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department at 8.30 a.m. on Monday, Kalaburagi recorded the State’s highest maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius, which was three degrees more than what was recorded on the same day last year.

Bidar was close behind recording a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, which was also three degrees more than the temperature recorded last year on the same day.

Raichur recorded a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius.

This was a degree more what was recorded last year on the same day.

Vijayapura also saw 41 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees more than the temperature recorded last year on the same day.

Koppal recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperatures also continued to be oppressive in Hyderabad Karnataka region with Kalaburagi, Bidar and Raichur recording a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, followed by 25 degrees Celsius in Koppal.

In the rest of the region, the minimum temperature hovered between 22 and 23 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department observation noted that the maximum temperature rose at many places in Hyderabad Karnataka and Bombay Karnataka regions and at a few places in south interior Karnataka.
