Masthan Babu’s kin a worried lot

April 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:58 am IST - NELLORE:

The family members of the deceased mountaineer, Malli Masthan Babu, are a worried lot, with uncertainty looming large over the possibility of the early retrieval of his body from the Andes mountains on the Chile-Argentina border in South America.

The retrieval operations were badly hit on account of the adverse weather conditions in the past four days. Meanwhile, the Argentinian authorities are reported to have refused to give the go-ahead to Army choppers to take the body to the base camp.

Growing uncertainty

Masthan Babu’s mother Masthanamma, sister Dr. Dorasanamma and brothers have been upset over the turn of events and the growing uncertainty over the shifting of his body to his native place at Gandhi Jana Sangam, 40 km west of Nellore town.

When contacted, Dr. Dorasanamma said they hoped that the Argentinian authorities would do the needful at the earliest.
